ROSMINUN BT LUIS

June 4, 2012
My name is Rosminun Bt Luis but you should call me Sumie. I am an English teacher who is teaching in MRSM Betong, Sarawak. For God sake, Betong is somewhere in Sarawak, very far from the capital city which takes you 4 hours driving. We don’t have airport for you to take flight. So, get on with it. This blog is kind of new to me, which you might know that it is very ‘Greek’ to some of the Sarawakian. We don’t know what ‘Gamelan’is because we don’t have much exposure on this. So, it’s a great opportunity for me to work with other teachers who really into this ‘Gamelan’thing. I might introduce this thing to my student where they can access this blog anytime they want to get more information on it.

Zuhaili bt Jalil

June 4, 2012

Holla, my name is Zuhaili Jalil. I am from Kedah. I am a bachelor degree graduate from International Islamic University Malaysia. Currently, I am teaching English language in MRSM Transkrian inNibongTebal, Pulau Pinang for more than two years now. The reason for creating the website for gamelan is because the three of us have high passion in music. During my first degree, I am involved with Caklempong and Gamelan musical club. Involving actively in club is really helpful for me because it helps me to fill my free time besides easing my stress in studying by playing the musical instruments. Thus, I am sure that this website will bring benefits to others especially to MRSM's Gamelan Club.

HASNORIAH MD ZAKARIA

June 1, 2012
Anyong! I am Hasnoriah Md Zakaria or you can call me Nor. I graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia in Bachelor of Human Sciences in English Language and Literature. Currently, I am teaching English language in MRSM Kuala Terengganu. I have been teaching in MRSM KT only for three years so I am considered as a ‘junior’ in teaching. J I am hoping that I can be a good and ambitious teacher after I completed Diploma of Education in IIUM.

I love music and I can listen to any range of music. I love Korean, Malay and English songs. And I can listen to R & B, Hip Hop, Pop and Rock. But most of all, I love traditional music very much. Hence I learnt the traditional music during my school days and in university. I can play Kolintangan, Caklempong and Gamelan. At the moment, I am teaching Gamelan skills for my students back in MRSM Kuala Terengganu so I think that I am using the skills that I have learnt for the past 8 years.

I think that is enough for my introduction. I hope you guys enjoy browsing through our website especially those who are interested in knowing and learning about gamelan. Feel free to leave a comment.
